Nanyang Nature Society, Upcycling – Save The Pen initiative

The Save The Pen initiative initiated last year was concluded this year. During this initiative, the Upcycling Team comprising members of the Nature Society from Secondary 2,3 and 4 collected more than 600 pens, of which all have been upcycled and donated to beneficiaries!

The Upcycling Team collected pens that had run out of ink or were not usable and these were donated to the Save The Pen’s collection point in NUS Law Library for recycling of pen parts.

Pens that were refillable were refilled, cleaned and donated to Children’s Wishing Well, a charity organisation. The ones that could still be used were cleaned and donated to Methodist Welfare Services.

Here are some pictures of our members passing on the pens to the beneficaries!
