Creative CCE lessons in Term 2

Living with uncertainty created by our current circumstances under Covid-19 has continued to put stress on us all but has also motivated us to move forward with positivity.

In CCE lessons at the start of Term 2, students looked inwards to identify personal strengths as well as an area for growth. Reflective thought and group discussions led to a fun activity where students identified an object that represented their resolution for Term 2 or something that would motivate them in achieving their goals. They used modelling clay to create that object, engaging their senses of touch and sight to make the intangible, visible and something that would symbolize their take on the 3 key elements of their learning – becoming empowered learners, agents of change and women of character. These were then placed on their desks for daily encouragement.

Secondary 3 students also worked with paper and created their own versions of kintsugi, the Japanese art of repairing broken pottery by mending breakages without hiding them. Students found ways of closing the gaps and tears in their paper and recreating something new. And some students demonstrated their excitement and full engagement in putting together elaborate designs beyond the kintsugi principle.

We share with you here some beautiful examples of students’ work.
